Radio Lions has been broadcasting each evening since 1975. Programmes may be heard via an exclusive cable network serving the General Hospital in St. Helier, and has also included the Jeanne Jugan Residence and Overdale at Westmount, The Limes in Green Street and Sandybrook in St.Peter's Valley but due to current technical difficulties it's possible that we may not be heard there at the moment. Radio Lions is brought to you by a voluntary team of enthusiasts, from studios in the basement of the General Hospital in St.Helier (located here on Google maps - ample parking available nearby in Patriotic Street multi-storey).

Radio Lions is now on Facebook
- where all the latest news and photos are more likely to appear -

so please join us there!

This website may languish in 90s style primitive HTML while the mainstream social media is a more effective way to reach out! Facebook is the best way to get in touch - several new members have joined recently from making contact on FB. Hi to James Roberts and Doug :)

Radio Lions is a member of the HBA, the Hospital Broadcasting Association, and is sponsored by the Lions Club of Jersey. The fairly comprehensive record library contains over 50000 tracks, so there is a good chance that your request can be played - you can call on Jersey (+44 1534) / (01534)   87 18 18   (reversed charges gladly accepted) or you may write to Radio Lions, c/o The General Hospital, Gloucester Street, St. Helier, Jersey JE2 3QS.

Take a look at the studios

Many of our members remain dedicated to Hospital Radio while also being exerienced at working for somewhat larger radio stations. Some members feature on BBC Radio Jersey, or the commercial station Channel 103fm, and several members once starred on Radio Force 7 (St Malo). A few of us just can't stay off the airwaves and are also Radio Amateurs - here's a gratuitous link to the local club, the GJ3DVC Jersey Amateur Radio Society.

Radio Lions members all help in a variety of ways. There's plenty to do - committee work, fundraising, and of course trying to make a difference for our audience by ward-visiting and producing entertaining radio programmes. If you'd like to join the team, please get in touch. It's no trouble at all to arrange a visit to our studios, and you'll find a warm welcome. Full training is available for our on-air equipment, so there's no need to be wary of all those controls!
